Oftentimes, we think that God chooses men and women to use based on their strengths. We look at the heroes of faith in the Bible and see people who had strong dependence on God, admirable character qualities, and a legacy that lasted thousands of years.
What we often don’t see, however, is that each and every one of those whom God called throughout Scripture had inherent weaknesses. Think of Sarah, who was barren, or Paul, who had a past of persecuting the church; think of Job, who lost everything, or Jonah, who had a chronic disobedience and distrust problem. No matter who comes to mind, we see that God calls those who have weaknesses.
