In the story of the disciples in the storm on the Sea of Galilee, we learn several very important lessons. Jesus sent the disciples into the storm not so that they would despair, but so that they would learn He is the only true, eternal Source. Here are a few key lessons from this story that we can take to heart:
1. We’ll eventually run out of strength. By the time Jesus reached the boat, the disciples had been rowing for nine hours. They were wet, exhausted, cold, hungry, and frustrated. They couldn’t trust each other, or even the boat, to get them out. The only One they had left to turn to was Jesus. Eventually, we’ll reach this point in our own lives, and realize that only our God has infinite wisdom and strength. We can’t do it on our own.
