Did you know that, as a Believer, you have access to God’s heart?
The moment you accept Jesus Christ into your heart as your Lord and Savior, you instantly gain the ability to connect to God’s heart.
The problem is that when bad things happen in life, as they often do, many of us are left believing that God doesn’t care, or that He has somehow forgotten about us, or that we did something to turn Him away from us. Nothing could be further from the truth! When we have access to God’s heart, we can tap into His power, His provision, and His promises.
However, Satan uses the times when we are down and hurting the most to sow seeds of disbelief to keep us stuck in downward spirals, to disconnect us from our Savior, and to prevent us from crying out to God.
He tries hard to limit your prayers because he knows that your prayers limit his power in your life!
When we prayerfully and wholeheartedly express ourselves to God, He can turn any situation around. I want to encourage you to not allow the many distractions in life to keep you from hearing and receiving that one Word from God that could change everything.
James 5:16 (KJV) says “…and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” Just imagine what could happen in your family, your neighborhood, at your job, or in your church if just one righteous person would fervently and effectually pray to God for healing and intervention. That’s what an Old Testament King named Hezekiah did in the 2nd book of Kings. After he heard the bad news that he was sick and going to die, he turned his face to the wall and cried out to God!
Some people are afraid to petition, pray, and praise God because they are afraid of the outcome. We may ask, “What if God doesn’t answer? How will I know it’s Him? What if I don’t like His answer?”
Yet, you can rest assured that if God is really speaking, He will make it clear and confirm it, so we’ll know it’s really Him speaking. God promised to give us hope for the future, so when we seek after Him, we needn’t be afraid, but instead, trust that the result will be for our good… His answers will neither harm nor condemn you.
When we receive a Word from God, we still must pray it through in order to receive the fullness of God’s provision. King Hezekiah believed that God would restore his health, so he prayed fervently and God not only healed him, but also added 15 years to his life.
I want to encourage you, today, to incessantly pray over the things that weigh heavily on your heart in your life or a loved one’s life. God is ready and waiting to answer your prayers, to perform miracles, and to show you His infinite love for you.
All you need to do is believe and seek His face. He promises to answer!
So, when bad news comes, take the issue to the God who can turn it all around. God has a track record…when you pray, call upon His history in your life. Remind yourself of what God has done for you in the past and believe that He can and will do it again.
Faith is what gets God involved in our affairs. He requires us to believe before He acts. …If you don’t believe it, you won’t receive it!
Be like Hezekiah and instead of magnifying the problem in your mind, magnify the God who can solve the problem.
Let’s turn to the wall, cry out to God, and receive all He has for us!
