Are you familiar with the full meaning behind Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross? Jesus died for our sins so that we may have eternal life through Him. To receive salvation, we must not only believe that Jesus died on the cross, but understand its significance and receive His gift of salvation.
The sacrifice that Jesus made took the punishment for our sins from us. Even though we were guilty of sin, we were given the gift of salvation. Jesus bore our sins so that we may have eternal life! By dying, Jesus also gave us His righteousness—we can pray on His behalf to the Father. This means that Jesus is the mediator between us and the Father. Without Jesus’ sacrifice, we would not have this access.
While all of us are sure to experience pain in our lives, there is a simple solution. Whenever difficult times arise, we can look to the cross and remember Jesus’ sacrifice and find peace. No matter how bad the sickness, dilemma, or setback—God is stronger. And we know we can always call on Him.
In times of uncertainty, it is essential to remain faithful. Cast your worries upon God and remember His love for you. He sent His son to die for your sins and become the mediator between us and the Father. Once we accept His gift of salvation, we can walk in obedience to His teachings and be a light in the darkness. The next cross you see, whether it be in church or on a car bumper, take a moment to recognize and be grateful for Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice.
Live Big!
