Sermon Tag: <span>disappointment</span>

We’re not always going to get what we want. The question is, when this happens, how will we respond?

Proverbs 4:23 says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” In this verse is a key truth, which we often overlook. If every part of our lives is directly influenced by the state of our heart, we have some serious work to do in guarding and maintaining it.

To find out the condition of your heart, simply listen to yourself. Hear what you’re saying. Watch what you’re doing. The state of your heart will be revealed in the details of your life. The devil’s goal is to poison our hearts so that we, in turn, sow the same unhealthiness into the lives of others.
