We are in a battle! The enemy is constantly on the offense, attacking us spiritually. The only way to weather these attacks is by using the Full Armor of God! Each piece has its advantages, but one of the most essential pieces is the Shield of Faith! Are you equipped with faith? When we are, we can resist all of the enemy’s attacks!

The power, and importance, of our faith is made evident in Ephesians 6:16 (NKJV), “Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.” Pastor Grier delves into the history of these darts in historical warfare. They are meant to distract! To get the soldiers to drop their shields. Similarly, the Devil attempts to make us drop our faith.

It is important to note how our faith is related to a shield. God never says that He is going to stop the enemy’s attacks on us altogether. Instead, we have the equipment and potential to resist the attacks, making them futile. The Shield of Faith is our protection from the malicious attacks of the enemy!

So, the only question that remains is: are you utilizing the Shield of Faith? Without it, you are left helpless on the spiritual battlegrounds—you have no protection against the enemy! Strive to utilize the Shield of Faith and the rest of the Full Armor of God. God gave us these capabilities so that we may utilize them amidst the constant spiritual warfare we are sure to encounter!
