The Holy Spirit is a being. Oftentimes, many of us picture the Holy Spirit as a passive force, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. In the book of John, Jesus reveals many truths regarding the nature of the Holy Spirit and how He helps us as believers. Through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, we have access to the Holy Spirit and all that He helps us with.
First, we need to analyze who the Holy Spirit is. If we know Jesus Christ, we know the Holy Spirit. Christ and the Holy Spirit are allos – they are of the same kind and nature. But, they have different properties. The Holy Spirit is our help in times of need. But this isn’t the only way we benefit from His presence.
Aside from knowing the Holy Spirit and being helped by Him, He also dwells within us. This gives us an amazing blessing – access to a relationship with the Father. Normally, this would not be possible, but through the Holy Spirit’s dwelling in us – which takes place after we accept of the grace of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice – it is a reality.
In conclusion, the Holy Spirit is a complex, divine, and unique being. While the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit together comprise the Trinity and God as we know Him, it is important to recognize the differences and nature of each head. Don’t just read about it – pray and experience the nature of our Divine Helper for yourself.
