Did you know that God will receive you as you are? But that doesn’t mean you have to stay just as you are!

As you head into this new year, I want you to toss aside your resolutions and replace them with revolutions. What I’m saying is, don’t make goals to change your life…Make habits to change your spiritual life. I guarantee if you do those things, you’ll experience a better life.

In Genesis 12 and 13, we discover a lot about the flawed character of Abraham. He was a man after God’s heart but Abraham definitely had missteps along the way. Yet when Abraham compromised the purity of his wife to save his own life, did God stop loving His servant?

No.

When Abraham was given strict instruction not to take any relatives on the new journey with him, did he listen?

No.

However, what do we see God doing in those passages? We see God gently guiding Abraham back to the path of righteousness. And we see a humbled Abraham repent before his Almighty God. We see the consequences of Abraham’s disobedience but we also see God’s pursuit of His child.

The enemy wants us to believe we have to be perfect before the Lord can use us but He can use us and teach us the ways that are righteous as we go. Even when we fail, God loves us and allows us to come running back to Him.

I want you to know that there is nothing you can do that will separate you from God’s love. We can make any kind of indecent proposal and God will still be there for us, ready to guide us back to the place He can BEST use us. All we need to do is repent and come back to Him.

Living In Grace and Peace,

Dr. Grier
