In the midst of your storm, are you trusting and believing God for deliverance?
In the natural world, conditions sometimes seem hopeless, but the resurrection of Christ provides hope, both for this life and the life to come.
When Jesus died for our sins, He was placed in a dark tomb, guarded by a stone that weighed between one and four tons. But by the grace of God, He was resurrected after an earthquake hit and an Angel came down from Heaven to remove the stone.
I love Easter because it’s a reminder of not only what Jesus did for us, but of what God CAN DO for us, every day.
If God used His supernatural power to resurrect Jesus from the dead, imagine what He could do in your life!
The disciples had been with Jesus for 3 years. Nevertheless, they did not, at first, recognize Him after His resurrection. But He did make himself known to them. Their sadness and their dashed hopes had clouded their vision. We are just like the disciples; oftentimes, we get so wrapped up in our own rough patches that we take matters into our own hands, instead of keeping the faith that His will for our lives is perfect.
Jesus faced death and defeated it on the cross, for us!
And as we face trials, troubles, and certain death to this world, we can live out our days knowing our Savior already defeated death. Romans 8:37 declares that we already have the victory, but we have a responsibility to surrender to God so He can deliver us from our trials. The verse addresses fear of death and denotes it by declaring, “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
If we continue to lean on our own understanding, our decisions may ultimately cost us our salvation through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Don’t let your pride, independence, or self-seeking lead you from the gift of Easter…the gift of the cross…the gift of resurrection.
As you celebrate Easter, take hold of the truth that God’s love for you is so immeasurable, He sent His only Son to take away your sins and give you eternal life. Surrender your life to Him, and allow the Lord to order your steps.
I guarantee He transforms your life into something greater than you ever imagined.
Living in Grace and Peace,
Dr. Grier
