Blessings from Obedience

Following the plan that God has for your life

Are you following the plan that God has for your life? We shouldn’t be obedient in pursuit of blessings, rewards, or the benefits we reap. Our obedience should come from a place of respect and love for our God—our Savior. When we are obedient to God’s guidance in our lives and recognize Him as our source of strength, we start to experience the blessings that ensue!

The first step of this equation is recognizing God as both our authority and source of strength, no matter the circumstance. Paul puts in perfectly in Philippians 4:12-13 (NKJV): “I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Whether we have much or little, God is our source of strength!

Being obedient in all stages of life can seem confusing. There will be times when God’s plan doesn’t make sense to us because we don’t see the full picture as He does. He has a complex purpose and plan for each of us, this means that sometimes we won’t be able to understand it is finished! During these times, have faith in His guidance—be obedient to His plan!

Once we become sensitive to God’s guidance and follow Him in obedience—we see blessings in our lives! Again, blessings should not be the motivating factor for our obedience to God! Our obedience must come from a place of respect and love for our Lord and Savior! The only question that’s left is are you obeying God’s guidance in your life?
