If you’re like me, at the end of every week, you can look back and see every place you were tested. We wish we could say that we passed each one with flying colors, but that’s hardly the case. Problems are inevitable and you may feel like you won’t get through them when they arise, but God never allows you to get into any situation that you can’t handle.
In Job 1:1 NKJV, we meet Job. He is described as “blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil.” He is also described as being an abundantly wealthy man with generosity to match. Yet, despite the quality of his character and his comfortable life, he became the Bible’s archetype of personal suffering.
Job lost every good thing in his life, even his health. He was left with nothing but daily, excruciating pain, from both illness and unsupportive friends and family. Through it all, Job remained faithful to God. He understood that God wouldn’t let him go through anything that he could not handle! Job’s tremendous faith was rewarded with the restoration of twice of what he had lost, including his children and all his wealth!
I believe you have what it takes to get to the other side of your crisis or God wouldn’t have allowed it. Psalm 23 says we will walk through the valley of the shadow of death, but when we walk with God, He always carries us to the place where our cup runs over. When you seek God faithfully through your hardest times, your heart remains connected to His, and He will never fail to reward you double for your trouble!
