One of the things that have always amazed me is God’s ability to do much with little. Whether it was multiplying a few loaves and fish to feed thousands or a simple bottle of oil, one of the defining characteristics of God is His willingness to expand and enlarge the little we have when we trust and obey Him with it.
The Word of God makes a point to let us know that there is no detail of our life too small that God isn’t intimately aware of it. From the number of hairs on our head to the very desires of our heart, God knows us. There isn’t anything in life that is insignificant in the eyes of your Heavenly Father; there is no hurt, no pain, nor any brokenness what He hasn’t already made provision for healing. His heart for you is to be sound and whole literally from the top of your head to the soles of your feet.
But walking in that wholeness means learning to trust Him and allowing God to direct and guide you. It’s easy for us to want to manage the parts of our lives that seem small and only lean on God for the “big” things. But if you saw your life through the eyes of God, you’d realize there is no small part of your life. Everything matters to Him.
When I first felt God tell me to expand into media, it seemed like a dream. As I looked at what resources I had and what I could do, I made up in my heart that I’d do everything in my limited power to pursue media opportunities and know that God would open the proper channels to make it a reality.
I vividly remember telling God, “I don’t have enough to do 30 minutes on the radio. I don’t even have enough to do 15 minutes on the radio. I have just enough to do 1 minute.” I never could have known that God would use that single minute of air time over and over again until it was touching hundreds of thousands of people all across the greater Washington, D.C. area. I gave Him what I had and He was able to make much from it.
I want to challenge and encourage you today. Instead of focusing on what you need from God, what do you have that you can trust Him with? It doesn’t have to be much, but you do have to offer it. I believe if you’re like me and you have just one minute per day, then that is something God can work with.
I want to see you begin to break free for your life of habit and routine and discover the abundance and excitement of a life lived for Jesus. I’ve compiled a collection of the most inspiring and encouraging stories, lessons, and insights from years of study into a handy book called 60 Minutes of Wisdom. Just like my “Ministry Minute” radio broadcasts, each chapter is designed to be read in just one minute. But I believe if you will give God just one minute per day, He will begin a process of transformation and restoration in your life. When you take advantage of this week’s broadcast offer, you’ll receive 60 Minutes of Wisdom and its all-new sequel, Another 60 Minutes of Wisdom.
Your path to promotion and blessing begins by trusting God with what you have. When we give God our little, He will make much of it.
Walking in Grace,
Dr. Derek Grier
